I don't think I can find a cleaning rod short enough..:onCrack:

It had a poly finish which got stripped off and then a light stain with a BLO rub.
I gotta get this out , and heat'r up ! .... so I can see how the paint finish on the barrel holds up

Honestly that is more attractive than an ordinary lungmann.

I agree, but it would be better with the barrel shortened by 6-8". It makes no sense to improve handling characteristics by lopping off the wood, but leaving the barrel original length. Shorten that barrel and you'd have a decent hunting rig.

I LOVE the Swedes, but the AG42B is an abomination - accurate, but clunky and unwieldy.

Good point andy.
With a 20" barrel that'd be a devestating deer rifle.

I'll be punching paper with it soon and see how it does.
It will be with me at deer camp as a backup and a "show'n tell" with the boyz.
My bro uses an AG42 deer hunting and Ive seen just how fast it will drop a decent sized buck. The only thing is loading , when that bolt slams home theres a loud metalic "kachunk" that can be heard for a long way off in the quiet morning bush.
In my area we have a .275cal restriction for hunting and I bet this will be a bangon coyote gun as well which will allow a fast follow-up fersure.
Shortening the barrel is an interesting thought , but maybe someday , somebody will want to restore it.
"If " I do anything to this rifle , it will be a scope .
I can't see much more than a pound , or so, less than original wieght .
( the day I worry about a pound or so of weight is the day I do some extra push-ups)

Even if it is a bubba, its looking quite good. There was one at my local gun club, that one was a real mess, the buttplate has been replaced by a pag (involved chopping of the butt), the grip area has been cut into some kind of straight target profile with the most horrible wouldbe checkering you could imagine :puke: Yours look like a K43 now, still nice.

And to the unitiated, what exactly is "wrong" woth this rifle ?

The forestock has been cut back about 8" or so which removed the bayo attachment and a barrel band . The top handguard has ventilation holes drilled into it.
The stock has been sanded , but there is still a crown stamp on the grip.

Whoever did this , took his time at least.
I wonder what a scope and a Harris bipod will do ?
....good gawd....lmao

LJUNGMAN, controlling brass

SOOO I found I spent more time at the range looking for my brass than shooting. It's not pretty but it works, drops them at your feet or on the bench. Materials canvas & tie wraps.
