Bubba'd LE into a useful rifle.

I picked up this bubba'd No4mk1 about 6 months ago and all it did was sit in the safe. It was already drilled and tapped for a T-01 scope base. I pulled it out and started playing with it. I beadblasted the stocks to make the grains pop out then hit it with some black stain which seems to be very durable. Alot better than paint. I then cut the barrel down to 18 1/2 inches. I added a rear handgaurd and middle band. Made it look like a No5 a little. Tracked down a adjustable bipod and added a bushnell dusk&dawn scope. I think it looks alot better than it did and is going to get use. Better than sitting in the back of the safe.

Ya I was thinking about that. Some people say it will be fine some people said it will mess up the accuarcy. I havent had a chance to shoot it yet so im not sure how it shoots. Hope its alright but not sure. Ill let everyone know when I hit the range.
 
Not bad at all... Personally, I would have liked to see some sort of muzzle treatment, with iron sights still available, but as you say: At least it will get used now!
 
Ya I still need to put on a muzzle break and stuff. This is the most bubba'd LE I have. All the other are full wood originals or full wood restorations. All matching numbers except this one. Doesnt make me feel so bad but its better than it was before.
 
That's a nice little fun gun you got goin' on there. Like others said, some back-up
irons would finish 'er up good. If the bore is good, and you get good groups from the
bench, you might want to invest in a Huber Concepts trigger to really help shrink
them by about half of what you normally achieve.
If you can get down Stateside, a Brockmans Gen III front sight would look perfect on this
rifle. You could then cut a shallow radius on the bottom flat of the rear No.4 back sight
to allow extraction of the bolt while the sight is folded down.

your enfield will make a great hunting rifle. Enfields in my family have been turning animals into meals for 50 years now. one slight caution put some locktite on the screws that clamp the rings to the rail. I wish that weaver would offer that mount with a picatinny top for more adjustment.
