Well, I went and done it! I decided to give this rifle a second chance. I free floated the barrel and had to do some stock modifications. I also did not like the length of the stock, so I shortened it. I'm not an expert, but then again I wanted a truck gun. The rifle is a Weatherby Carbine.

I don't want to hear all those people whining about how I took away from the rifle's looks, etc., I know I committed a sin. However, in sinning, I now have a rifle that is now a shooter. Fugly as hell, but a shooter!

On the target, I knew the 2nd shot was going to be high and away because I did not breath right. The other two, were slow, relaxed and gentle squeeze....

how were the other groups

The other groups? I had to sight the scope in. -10 is not an ideal temp for that scope. My other group was just as good, just messy with the sight in shots. I added another target and shot the group on the pic. Then I went over to the 300 yard yard range and banged away at the 8" gong until I ran out of ammo (about 10 or 11 rounds).

Again with the brass issue, I wanted to examine the third shot brass to see if there is any issue with the case separation. All is good and I love it! And to think, two weeks ago I was very close to buying a Ruger Scout...not no more. :D

It doesn't need to be pretty, especially shooting groups like that. I assume that's at 100?

If the rifle shoots good, looks are optional. I'll admit that there is a desirability to a "good looking gun", but the deer don't care what the gun looks like.

Kudos on producing a great working gun.
