From the manufacturer:

"It all began with the 110 Folding Hunter. The 110 could be found on many sailors' belts in the Navy. A couple of sailors got into a fight one day, and the 110 Folding Hunter was used. As a result, the captain issued a decree that knives carried could not have a blade length of a specific size. The 110 ended up being too long, so Buck Knives took the initiative and created the Ranger, a smaller version of the 110. The 112 is another traditional favorite. Closed Length: 4 1/4" (10.8 cm). Imported sheath.

Proudly made in the USA with the utmost care to ensure the best materials and workmanship.

Each blade is put through a rigorous heat treat process and quality performance test.

Lifetime warranty on each Buck knife to be free from defects and workmanship for the life of the knife"

I got my 112 over 20 years ago, I was 19-20 at the bar having a good time and stereotypes aside a drunk native guy say's *Hey buddy I got something to show you' as he was undoing his belt in the middle of the bar... I was like WTF is going on here thinking the worst haha

Then he pulls out the knife in the holster and says $20 you can have it I said nah I'll buy you a beer and he said sure, he had it customized in native fashion some beaded leather strips hanging off the bottom of the holster and the look on his face when I cut them off immediately after i got it from him..

I can never get rid of that knife as the story makes me chuckle everytime I think of it.
