I'm with ya there, regarding scout scopes and red dots on lever guns. I went with a tang sight on my Rossi 92.
 
Nice Rifle! I have the same model Miroku M92 takedown/octagon in .44 mag. Predict you are going to like yours! I ordered a Marble's tang sight for mine. Now if I could get the mounting screws I'd really be happy!

Rusty wood sent the appropriate screws when I ordered my tang sight from them. Not sure where you got your sight but I bet they could help you out in the screw department.
