So I traded for a Buckmark on the EE a while back and I'm running having a problem while trying to take it apart for cleaning. The previous owner stripped the screws on the top so I cant unscrew them to take the pistol apart. I can clean the rails but every time I work the slide the dirt/solvent mixture just coats the slide rail again. It looks like the pistol hasnt been cleaned in years. Anybody have any solutions for removing stripped screws?

And buy new cone washers to replace the originals hile your at it.. you will be glad you did .. the screws get loose (a known problem) and is why the original owner went crazy trying to keep them tight.

He maybe also put loctite in there so you may have to clean that out as well.

With the small screws used in gun work the only decently viable way to remove ruined screws that are counter sunk is to drill out the heads. Once the heads are removed you can grab the stubs sticking up with some pliers and turn them out. If the previous guy loctited the screws use a soldering iron to heat up the screws to full soldering temperature than quickly grab and turn before they cool off. If you can get the screws turning before the loctite cools and hardens you'll ruin it enough to get the stubs out fairly easily.
