I just checked out the grand opening of a new hunting and fishing store here on the Miramichi. They are pushing a brand of scopes called Buckner Optics....prices were competitive with such lines as BSA and Leapers so I asked if they were Chinese. The clerk said "everything is made in China these days"....which answered my question. Now, we have a couple of other stores here on the river....one of which has very knowledgable staff and pushes Leupold and Bushnells. This new spot didn't have ANY scopes except what seemed to be the full line of Buckners. Has anyone heard of these scopes? I saw a rimfire model for a very nice price.

well, lifetime waranty and exchange at the store
if you think that about 90% of hunters shoot less than a box of amo a year and thescope has an average life span of 200-300 shots, it might be acceptable

how it works, cheap scopes aare sold 2 to 3 times what the worth to cover for the ones that come back to store

in my opinion, made in china and junk mean quite the same
but I could be wrong

I just came back from the store again with a little more info....seems they have a promo going for the higher end scopes....buy a scope and get a winter jacket free. It's a Quebec based company importing the scopes from China.
I took a closer look at their top line 30mm scopes....specifically the 3-12X56 and all it has is a reostat for the IR but no adjustable objective. And the asking price is $599.95!!!!!! I little over-priced I think.
