No doubt, but in some area's shooting regulations dictate the use of SG's with shot only. Usually as a safety precaution in sub-urban area's. Beside's, there's already many threads on killing coyotes with rifles.
 
If you'll be hunting bushlots in Ontario you'll be making shots under 50 yards through brush. 12 gauge 3" magnums in anything heavier than lead BB will do just fine. We run coyotes with dogs and use either #4 or #1 buck in the thick stuff and OO buck in the fields for a little longer range (but less pattern). If your calling try using any tree stands that would normally only be used in deer season.
