Buddy wants a ruger auto ,why?

I would get the Ruger over the Norinco but the CZ over all of them.

Rugers despite their crappy appearance are pretty reliable guns, but they do not compete with the CZ in terms of durability, reliability and accuracy. The CZ is an awesome gun. I will never sell mine.

+1

That pretty much sums it up for me, too. Only ever owned one Ruger centerfire semi-auto... a P90 in .45ACP.... [and a 1911 it wasn't!]... I've had a few CZ's... great pistols!

agree on the crappy looks, now I never owned a Ruger but heard that they're very durable...

The Ruger Auto's I've owned have been good looking, perfectly reliable and accurate. I had no idea there was such Anti-Ruger-Auto sentiment out there... My favorite so far was the P97 in .45 Auto - I would still have this gun if my brother hadn't talked me out of it. He loves it!

Jeff/1911.

I used to have a P89. I'd get one again. I'd also like a KP94. I still have a KP97D. The P345 is on the list. I wish it came in 9mm!

I would definitely recommend the P90 in .45 ACP. Affordable, and shoots exceptional out of the box. This seems to be the contrary to what most people on the boards are saying about the Ruger autos, but I am very pleased with mine. Some of the advice I received when I was thinking of getting one included, "they are built like brick s**thouses," and that is quite true. No ftf's, jams, just a solid piece of equipment all around.

Ruger

I love my P85, just never shoot it anymore (got into Glocks  ) I personally have had mediocre accuracy, but absolutely 100% reliability - it'll eat anything. And, honestly, I think it's a much 'prettier' gun than most of those out there (in a sort of blocky AK-ish sort of way!)

O.K. so nobody has anything realy bad to say about them ,Rugers .But it kind of sounds like taking your cousin to the prom.

But also nothing realy good ,you know like if I'd only said CZ-75 I'd get a ton of good reasons. He's looking at the rugers mostly because of price. And something in a calibre that starts with a "4".

I think Ruger semi autos are fantastic. Most people don't give them enough credit for what they are, affordable, tough, reliable pistols. For the price of a Ruger P89 I doubt anyone can come up with a better gun for the price. I have a 226 and a P89 and like both of them.

All ruger P series have alloy frames with the exception of the P95(prohib), P97 and P345 pistols which are polymer. The 97 and 345 are chambered in 45ACP. I prefer the Decocker models.

I loved my P89 and REGRET trading it. I will probably end up getting another one at some point. I also wanting a P94 (as I mentioned before). It has a slightly shorter barrel, and a slimmer frame. I will also be getting "K"(stainless) this time around.

How much would one pay for their NIB Ruger??? Would you get it much cheaper then $630 CND for a NIB CZ-75b. Not likely!! You might be able to get a Ruger P86 for a few...and I mean a few bucks cheaper then a CZ . I heard that some US forces have purchased some Ruger 9mm's so perhaps there is something good about them. Still think the US should continue using that wonderful pistol- Beretta 92, or what ever the US is calling their version.

Be a friend to your friend. Mention to him that he should buy a CZ. He will not be disappointed. It is not only a great value but it is one of the best pistols out their.

It's a no 'brainer' for me for pretty much the same price.

I am wanting a P94 in 9mm. Doesn't come in decocker though, so it will have to be safety. I have seen on a couple american forums that people with the P944 (.40) are really happy with them. They look pretty good with hogue wrap arounds.
