i purchased my SAM 1911A1 military in 9MM from the Calgary shooting center i have run about 6000 rounds through it without a problem at all
it cost me $509 the .45 was a bit less around $470 i think
worth every penny that i paid for it couldn't be more pleased with the purchase

677$ try to Google Dante sport in Montreal ,they have like 5 left last week. CRAFM have the Ruger 1911 for ~760$ you can try to call them.

There is a brand new SAM Commander-E on Gunaddicts.com for $400 (no tax) the same as I paid for mine and I am really pleased with this gun..fit and finish is top notch and it is a very accurate shooter. Haven't had any issues since I gave up on the flat point re-loads.

How much are the parkerized Springfield Armory GIs these days?
Those seem like excellent guns.

They are excellent pistols. I bought (my second) last week on the ee for 650. Money well spent in my opinion, although I also really like the Rock Island I have.

whenever I've taken a new shooter to the indoor range to shoot handguns, I always make a point of renting the SAM GI.45 that the calgary shooting center has in the case. probably shot it 4 times for at least an hour each and I really liked it. they had one for sale in another case priced at $480
