Budget 22 semi, which one?

Ah, NZ gun laws, or lack therof. :D
You have suppressors on any of your rifles?

When I think of rimfire I think fun and cheap, and the marlins completely embody that spirit.

i have a suppressor for my .22's

i dont generally piss about with suppressors on my centerfires

and this one specifically for my walther, as it has a proprietary thread

New is not necessarily better, but old stuff has been proven to outshoot new
I have to agree with Winnipeg, my old
Mossberg 151k is just great, 60years old and a pleasure to shoot,
cheap to buy and cheap to operate.
Side note: Do some research on old guns before you buy or you
could end up with an old Erma Werke "Wagonmaster" that wasn't
looked after, but i'm sure I can get that lever action working smooth yet!

I am surprised no one suggested Remington 597. It is just under 200$, I think Cabelas has it for 189 or something like that. It is much better design than Mossbergs plinkster, Savage 64, Marlins and 10/22. Some older guns have similar quality, but not cheaper modern rifles, they are all just that - cheap. If you are after used ones than I would suggest Mosberg 152K, very well made gun. Trouble with second hand rimfire is that often times someone is selling because it is a jammomatic, and those rifles will require some tinkering to make them work.
