Hi all,

Just wanted to share this with some of the folks that think that to get into the medium-long range shooting world you have to spend mega $$$. You can build a decent rifle on a tighter budget if you are patient. This rifle was built entirely from parts I purchased off of the EE over the last 2 weeks. Total cost for the rifle, as seen in the pic, was $1550...and although not cheap it is still a bargain IMHO!

Used Remington 700P barrelled action with floorplate in .308 Win (Less than 500 rounds. Factory 26" tube cut to 21" by previous owner). $575
Like new B & C Medalist Varmint/Tactical stock. $300
Used Timney 510 trigger. $110
Used/factory refurb. Nikon Monarch 5-20 x 44mm scope. $460
Like new Leupold PRW rings. $30
Like new ATRS 20 MOA rail/base. $60
Like new bipod (uknown make) $15

Buying a used or even new "on sale" 700 SPS varmint as the base gun would probably knock at least another $100-$175 or so of the total.

Indeed it is...right up until you look at your bank account and realize just how much the EE has cost you...this build is unfortunately but a minor fraction of the damage...oh well there's worse places to spend money I guess!?!? LMAO!

I have never seen a single deal even close to the ones you got. Good work. I've gave up on EE and just bought everything new. Too many "only 20 rounds" "mint" and "save tax + Shipping" stuff.

I'm at around $2150 for mine after I finished bedding so that's a damn good deal you got. Plus I don't have the tactical stock which is a few hundred more.

In my experience if I would have bought EE, I would have a used gun and paid 2200-2500. Not ####ting you. I don't know how you did it.

Now you have to feed the pig!!

~500 on reloading gear, a few hundred in components and 50-70$ outtings for ammo.

=)

Very nice build !!! --- You should be very proud of your accomplishment !! ---( & the fact that you didn't have to re-mortgage your house to
do it should serve as a good example to others.)

You said it. Patience is the key to finding actual deals on the EE.

Very nicely done!

Impressive shooting for a "hunting" rifle!!! LOL! I love seeing stuff like this especially when I know how little it actually cost a guy to get setup! I can't wait for spring to get here, so that work comes to a halt, so I can get back to the loading bench and find a load for this "new" gun!
