I'm at about 1100$ for mine, I picked up a Luepold VAR III 4.5-14x40 like new several years ago For 650$ shipped, I worked a deal to get the Weatherbly Varmint Axiom for cost, I had that versa pod from my Old M1A Days, I found a set of Rem 700 BINB Luepod bases in dads parts bin he has no use for and had a decent set of offset weaver rings.

Hi all,

Just wanted to share this with some of the folks that think that to get into the medium-long range shooting world you have to spend mega $$$. You can build a decent rifle on a tighter budget if you are patient. This rifle was built entirely from parts I purchased off of the EE over the last 2 weeks. Total cost for the rifle, as seen in the pic, was $1550...and although not cheap it is still a bargain IMHO!

Used Remington 700P barrelled action with floorplate in .308 Win (Less than 500 rounds. Factory 26" tube cut to 21" by previous owner). $575
Like new B & C Medalist Varmint/Tactical stock. $300
Used Timney 510 trigger. $110
Used/factory refurb. Nikon Monarch 5-20 x 44mm scope. $460
Like new Leupold PRW rings. $30
Like new ATRS 20 MOA rail/base. $60
Like new bipod (uknown make) $15

Buying a used or even new "on sale" 700 SPS varmint as the base gun would probably knock at least another $100-$175 or so of the total.

So thats what you were up too, nice work VLT79. I had been sitting on that trigger for a long time and had paid good money for it. Im really glad it went to a good home... Thats just awesome !
