Budget target 223, Savage, Remington or ?

I have been shooting Savage rifles in different configurations and cartridges for over 40 years and love ‘em!
I have also owned Remingtons , Omarks, Winchester’s and other brands of match rifles .
I have owned them with and without barrel nuts , with irons and optics and with slings and rests out to and past 1K
A person should shoot what they want to and enjoy it IMO.

My comment wasn't directed to anyone in particular. It is simply what I have observed over the years from numerous businesses that sell higher end rifles and shooters that shoot higher end rifles. It seems that everyone hates Savage except the ones who shoot them and sell them. Are they a top of line rifle? Of course not. I bought a 10T-SR a couple of years ago that had a bore that looked like it's rifling was cut out with stone tools. But are they a reliable and accurate option for someone who doesn't want to spend a pile of money? You bet they are.

No offence was intended. Like I said it is just what I have observed over the years.

Edit - From what I read, the fellow that set the world record did so with a Savage 112 chambered in 338 Lapua. 26 inch barrel with a 1:9 twist. It was mounted in an Accurate Rifle Systems Chassis.

Asking for a low budget 223 target rifle is like asking for a pregnant male horse.

What do you call a pig if you call it a duck? It's still a pig, no matter what you want to call it.

You can find a low budget 223 rifle... or you can find a target rifle.... no such thing as both.

More appropriate might be whats the least expensive 223 target rifle one might recommend... answer RPR in 223 or heavy barrel Savage FTR or something like that depending if you want a repeater or single shot.
