I bought a stormwerks stock adaptor for my AR180B but I can't get a conclusive answer if I need a mil spec or commercial buffer tube.

The threads are the same (or at least the same pitch) so both will work on the threaded adapter itself.

The only difference is the Mil-spec threads are usually a fully formed 75% thread and the commercial threads are closer to a 50% thread (the tubes are usually extruded so they can't stick out above the diameter of the tube itself)

Since all the female threads are fully cut threads, both will work.

It just depends on what kind of buttstock you want, make sure to keep commercial with commercial, and mil-spec with Mil-Spec :)

You can kind of see it here, the Commercial on the left has the diameter cut down to accommodate the threads, the mil-spec threads are protruding above the OD since they are usually forged or billet, and the overall size was irrelevant.
