So I currently have a Dpms oracle lower with a 16 Inch upper on it (223). I'm building a 7.5 inch upper (223) and I would like to be able to swap the 7.5 and 16 Inch on the same lower.

Is this possible? Would I be able to use the stock Dpms buffer with the 7.5 inch? Or would I need to get a heavier/lighter buffer to assist the 7.5 with its reliability.

(Yes I know the simple solution is to build a new lower specifically for the 7.5... but that's still a ways down the road)

hey, I am not sure about the buffer weight for the real short upper, however, I do know that its really easy to swap a buffer :) you already have the upper off. its literally seconds to swap the buffer out.

I have a Spikes Tactical ST-T2 that I run in my 12 inch rifle that I swapped into a 6.5 inch build I had because the carrier velocity was so high it was causing the trigger to reset so hard it hurt my finger. The T2 smoothed it right out and made my 12 inch run smoother as well. I've never tried it with my 16 inch upper though.

Best way to figure it out is to just go shoot it and see what happens, it's hard to correct a problem before it's a problem. You'll feel it if you need to slow down the BCG.

Questar and a couple other site sponsors carry them.

Good luck
