Buffing out Polymer Frame Scrathes

I agree with everyone who was underwhelmed by the scratches shown. The desire to try and fix this up came from guilt as it's not my piece. If it were, I would not have thought twice about it.

That being said, I do appreciate everyone's contribution. CGN has likely saved me from making it worse, and there's some great stuff here to file away in the back of one's mind.

As previously stated, if this becomes an issue down the road, I'll very carefully apply a careful spot-sanding and buffing to the affected areas.

Thanks again to everyone.

Being a Heathen Hedonist I'm not big on the subject of penance.

In this case if you think you're buddy will be pissed I'd say appropriate retribution would be 2 beers ( not ####ty one's like Colt 45 or Old Milwaukee ) and a nice fresh copy of Guns and Ammo or Handgunner. That should even you up with him and the Gun God's for your sins.

I'd leave it, any attempt to remove those will result in a smooth spot that's more noticeable than those marks. If you must do something try 3000 grit paper, dry. You can get it at your local auto parts store.

I like the cut of your jib. In this particular case, wine will be divine.

don't touch it. There is no way to restore the original look, if you sand it, what is below isn't going to be nicer than this, even if you use 3000 grit. The polymer has been texturized and you will be removing it's cosmetic appearance.

To fix polymer, you gotta use epoxy, then sand it and shape it. Not ideal in this case since the area is small. The more you touch that the more damage you are going to make.

I would leave it as is, too bad, it happens.

For that much? PHHHHTHHH!

"Apologise" for your thoughtless damage to the gun by taking her out for a nice romantic dinner and have a good night together.

The potential for doing MORE damage is higher than the rather minor damage to the plastic that is on there now. To blend the area and then try to mimic the texture will easily be far more noticeable than what I'm seeing in your pictures.
