Dang skeeterzs are horrendus this year.
What do you put on your hounds?
Hounds being dogs?
Is there any product to deter them blud terstie suckers?
GSP's have no furr awn their bellies and even the full coated
Lab was pestered brutally last night.
Old gal deserves better than bee'in bullied by skeeters.
And to think old Noah had the awwpurrtewnititty to swack both when
he had the chance.

Horse "fly" spray works on everything except "horse flies" funny enough.

Haven't gotten too bad here yet, but they are starting to pick up in numbers this past week, I hate those little bastards, lol. Not sure what to put on a dog though,my Pyrenees probably has more hair than a mosquito could ever hope to get through. I may try out the recipe in the post above for our older mutt, she has a relatively short coat and might appreciate the relief.

Agreed..... thermacells work great for stand hunting..... not so well for spot and stalk...

Our hounds get nothing for skitters..... they run in November for deer...... they get advantix and a dose of permethrin for ticks...

Our vet tells me that there is a product available in the States (not here yet, if ever...) for flea/tick control that is also supposedly effective at repelling mosquitoes.

When our dogs lived in an outdoor kennel in Ontario, they slept in an insulated, partially heated garden shed. In the summer I would go in there with one of those electric flyswatters and clear out the skeeters each evening, and it seemed to help somewhat. Kills 'em with a satisfying pop!
