Build for wife... Muzzle brake

Yeah she shoots my 10.5 now with flaming pig. She doesn't have an issue with flinch or recoil I was just investigating what brake would minimize recoil the most and put it on there for her. She shoots 308 pretty damn well so it's not a big issue for her but her favorite is an sr22 so I want to tame down the 223 as much as I can if it means the right choice in brake its easy enough to do

If she shoots a .308 comfortably, a gas operated 6 or 7 pounds .223 isn't going to be an issue for her recoil wise. Make no mistake, you should do what you want to. But it kind of sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

Then I guess my post should have been "its getting a brake one way or another which one will reduce recoil the most". It is a part I will be buying before it goes off to cerakote so I wanted some opinion on what to get because either way I'll be buying one. She won't be impressed with the uncovered threaded end so I figured two birds. If I'm spending get some input and choose correctly. Never said it was a problem....the solution I'm after is to cover the threads and make it look good and function a bit better than my 10.5 in her hands. I have a couple others but normal flash hiders no brakes. 308 is heavy gun on a bench so maybe it was a poor comparison.

I've only had a couple brakes but with so many out there I figured here was the best spot to get some advice bc from way I read some of these brakes function extremely well

Gotcha.

I have a tendency to just run thread protectors until something tickles my fancy. I'm running an ATRS brake on my .308 bolt gun and it works remarkably well. You might consider one of them in the threading for 5.56 rifles. You can sometimes find them on the EE for less than 100 bucks:

Thanks will check it out. Actually had a message today from a new company. They said they were just finishing heat treat on a run of brakes and I was welcome to come pick one up no charge and look around the shop. So off I'll go with a case of beer and see what I find out
