Build vs Buy AR15 - different in Canada?

Once upon a time I tried to post another stores name, and this site edits it out of my post every time like its a swear word lol, Maybe they had problems with that company ....Different company so probably not the same anyways I buy a lot from Red Deer Shooting Center, mostly higher end/priced stuff but they get me everything I need all from one place even if its a special order they have to bring in just for me

Lol there's only a few shamed sites that this happens with. Marstar, #################?

Edit: Nope, not Marstar lol

Thanks for the input everyone. To clarify, I never said I wanted to build cheap...I said cheaper. ie. Build vs buy equivalent quality. The tools I would buy in any case so that's a non-issue. Some of the things that get me is seeing stuff like $119 for a charging handle...I was a bit shocked. I guess I need to read and figure out where to spend the money and where I can save a few bucks.

I am leaning towards a 14/14.5 barrel and would prefer the M4 ramps if possible so that seems to limit things a bit.

Also, while I mention it..anyone recommend a 14.5" m4 barrel that is cheaper than 450? Or am I shooting myself in the foot options wise by wanting extended ramps? And does it really matter?

Look at Faxon barrels. I got my 14.5" government profile for around 270 new and it's been great so far. Comparable to my DD & BCM barrels.

Also, I don't know how good they are, but RDSC has ballistic advantage battles for 189.99

You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on tools buy the AR wrench is all you need. I seen them built without using any tools just the guys hands
