Building a 50 BMG

For that kind of money you would think they would come up with a better clip design . Thats very dissapointing.

It has nothing to do how much money the rifles cost or magazine design, it is a simple fact of life that in a heavier recoiling rifle ammo moves forward under recoil.
The Accuracy Int rifles which cost even more also suffer from this issue as does every other rifle that has ANY sort of magazine to some degree.
Maybe you should be looking at belt fed, this apart from single shot is the only other design for a repeater that I can think of that does not have this problem.

Most mags have ribs that help a little, but when long seating at all this is then negated.

Yes.
No doubt a magazine could be purpose built to avoid this problem. Ribs, lots of room for whatever long seated bullet.
But then the rifle would have to be designed and built around the magazine.

PGW does not offer a 50BMG action anymore

I have never herd of the one from montreal, but i'd be intrested to know more

the BAT action is available but you need to get a permit to export it from the US. I forget what the action is called but it's not called a 50BMG action because it can also be used for the 416. permits are not cheap

Rick has an action but i don't know if he has anything other than shell holder actions and I think they suck big time!!!!

You can do some research but it is definatly possible as mine should be done in the next month or two. If your looking for a muzzle brake let me know because we are in the process of making some custom ones.

How about the Muzzle break, do you make them for 338Lapua, I am looking for an Effective Muzzle break, I got kick on the weekend big time from from an MLR.
if you do Muzzle break for 338, How much are they?.

Gunboy , NEAR MFG. LTD from Camrose Alberta makes a real good muzzle brake for the .338 Lapua . I have got one on mine that I just love .

Scott did you recently become a dealer here??

Funny how you would be the first person to throw that out there. It's almost like you were saying that so someone else would read it and perhaps ask for the dealer fee???

But then again you always have had that type of personality haven't you. If you have to pay then everyone else better pay!!! But if you ever found away around paying then you tell no one about it, find a way to charge everyone for it, and claim to be the only one in Canada with it!!!!!

So just to clear the air, even though it would be funny to let you continue thinking that this is someone who it is not, this is not the person that you have mistaken it to be. You must not have looked at the profile to well? But i defiantly know who you are talking about simply because there are few people around this particular area with these rifles. I though i read on here somewhere that you are not supposed to use people's names though???

For another thing I'm NOT a dealer. Not everyone on here is looking to make a buck. I simply have an HS50 rifle that i am building my own brake for and was willing to make one for someone else who was willing in return to help me test it out.

The 360 degree ported brake has been relentlessly proven to be one of the most accurate if not the most accurate brake designs out there. So i would like to test one out and see what i think of it.

I may even get the chance to compare it to your brake to if the guy you mentioned earlier buys one of your brakes like he keeps talking about all the time.

I don't have a dislike for you, Actually you keep things quite interesting on here. it seems like for every person on here that really likes your work there is someone on here who equally dislikes it. But that is just one of the down falls of being a dealer i guess, you'll never please everyone.

I do find it funny when you talk about the high cost of the 50BMG though. Most people buy there reloading components for about half the price that you sell them for. But the fact remains that this is probably not a big sale item for you and you are in business to make money not give stuff away. Cant fault you for trying to make a living.

it seems as though you have a real tendency to run down anything that you don't sell. Just because you can make a substantially higher markup on the rifles you build compared to the STEYR does not mean it is crap like you always make it out to be!!!!! I would be willing to bet that if you were the only one in CANADA selling the STEYR and could add on a huge markup the STEYR would suddenly become the best rifle money can buy!!!

You can tell everyone all day long that you don't like a particular rifle just do to personal preference or due to a few minor detail's that you fabricate into big draw backs, but the truth is that it all comes down to money!!!!

If you cant make money you don't sell it. The fact still remains that you are the worst person for running down every product that you don't have and speaking highly of everything that you do have warranted or not!!! That is just the type of person that you are.

But you sure keep things interesting on here, you also have some very valid points and are by no means a dummy. It does however get old listening to you continuously knock almost everything that you don't sell and hearing about how everything that you have is so amazing!!!

I'm sure there are going to be some people jump all over me for this post and i'm sure there are going to be more than a few that could not agree with me more.

So i'm going to post it and than I'm going to give someone a call who's name was mentioned earlier and apologize for pulling them into this mess and hope that i did not tarnish there name to badly with ATRS because from what i understand he has been and would like to continue to be a customer there. Sorry!!!!!

No I do not make brakes for any rifle other than for my own 50BMG and would possibly make one for someone else with a 50 that would like to test one out.

But i bet Rick would have one for you!!!

Stay tuned on that front.....

Does this mean that PGW may start to manufacture a 50BMG action again? I would be interested in that, Herd lots of good stuff about PGW.

Hope it will be a repeater, not because it is necessary but because they look really slick, and even I miss the odd first shot!! Sucks when you trying to hit an animal and miscalculated in the rush of the moment and miss!!!!

It does take a bit of time to decipher your posts. Have you considered proof reading before hitting "Submit Reply"?

Okay give it up already with the troll BS,, start acting like a professional, maybe you should check some other forums out and see how ridiculous you sound Rick.
I am member of many other forums that are also non gun related and I have never seen a sponsor say the things you do, you have your followers and so do others, but these threads are just plain and simple useless, if you want a pat on the back do what everyone else does and lift your arm go hard or start a forum on your own website.

I don't know him or met him either.
I couldn't agree with you more and those other guys...(followers) LOSERS. I don't have to pm you to say I am agree with. Say it where everybody can read it. Put me on your ignore list, I don't give a sh**.
I too have enough of this "troll" crap. Everybody else opinions means nothing, "him" knows everything.
