Question for the builders on the board. I want to bulid a custom 25-05 BLR. My thought was it would be easiest to start with a 30-06 BLR and get it rebarreled to 25-06? Is it that easy? What would be involved if it is not that simple? Also who is a good contact for custom barrel builds?

Same case head diameter and case length. 90 thou difference in OAL with the bullet. The '06 being that much longer. Any one of the Canadian barrel makers should be able to make it. Won't be cheap or quick though.

Hmmm, I thought I knew alot about BLR's and I never heard about this. Can someone tell me about importing? Is there any dealers in Ontario that would import? Is it something that would require me to mortgage my house?

Well, Clay at Prophet River does it all the time, as does Questar...better to ask one of them...
Maybe I should get one made up in in 375 Chatfield-Taylor.

Funny thing is I asked a couple of gun shops if you can order "custom made" BLR's by caliber and the answer was they won't do it. Makes me wonder how that shop in the USA could get them made.

"Special Run" firearms are often odered by the larger gun shops and others (like the Conservation organizations for fundraisers ...Ducks Unlimited, Ruffed Grouse, Quail Unlimited, etc.) down below.
