building a garand

I found a receiver for 40 box (breda), and I'm desapointed to see that you dont sell those receiver and bolt (OneBarfly)...hehehe.

I was looking to purshace all the part and to ask a gunsmith to assemble the barrel, receiver, gas system and bolt.

I begin to see the price of this sort of thing, hehe

Is someone know a competant gunsmith for this kind of job?

thanks all

only thing you should get a gunsmith to do (or Hungry will even do it for you) is screw the barrel on. You can easily put all the parts on yourself. Chances are the headspace will be A-OK with a mil-barrel properly indexed. If you buy a new commercial barrel, it will likely be short chambered and require a proper gunsmith to finish ream. None of this is rocket science.:)

Ah yeah...whatever. LOL, I guess if the barrel was bulged it would be a good enough reason to strip it and part it out.

and no, they are not for sale, unless you want the aforementioned kit. Huh, they're not for sale unless you strip them down and dis-assemble them? Why not just sell them assembled as in the picture??? Or its not what you see is NOT what you get?????

What's your price for a Garand with NOS parts? Do you recommend parting out a CMP papered M1D or an M1C?

You make no sense.......

other than screwing the barrel and the indexing, I touth that a gunsmith have to headspace and time the gas assembly....

maybe i'm wrong!

It is absolutely amazing how many "cheap" parts for sale out in gunstore and internet land that have seen far better days. Try buying a couple of op rods from the states that become unserviceable after 500-600 rds and can't be returned for replacement. More power to you if you want to build a Garand yourself. I do recommend getting a reputable gunsmith to mount your new barrel. Unfortunately, the first time I didn't use a reputable one. I used a "cheap" one.
