Building a rifle around bullets?

I sold my 8mm Rem Mag to BroncoMudder, finally found some 250gr Woodleighs, and bought the rifle back!
You guys would save yourselves a lot of heart ache if you only went through life without selling anything.

Let us know how they group and what kind of velocities you get. Mine wasn't a stellar success. Certainly good enough for hunting, but I had hoped for better with that combination. Still, does wonders on moose. - dan
I've built rifles for a box of bullets. I've built rifles to utilize a good take-off barrel. I've built rifles to utilize a set of dies. I've built rifles to put under a fifty dollar scope. I have often said, I could save myself a lot of money by giving some stuff away. Regards, Bill.
oh, they shoot just fine for hunting. With RL25 I got up to 2890 fps but the recoil was nuts, backed it down to 2750 fps (80 or 81 grs RL25 I think) and pounded a good black bear last spring. They look ###y too
I've bought rifles and even built rifles when just a set of dies happened to cross my path........

nah,...like the ING guy says..."save your money"...I'll lend you my 45-70 Guide Gun and about 40 350 Hornadys at about 1900fps for a couple weeks,..that feed your flinch....
I may have to take back this offer......it won't look good.....

I've never built a rifle over a particular bullet but I certainly have built them for a particular bullet weight. I will mess with different weight bullets in my target guns but
for my hunting guns I usually pick a bullet weight and then decide on the calibre.

Did that once and the rifle didn't shoot that particular bullet very well at all. Luckily it was ok with other stuff, but it really was a disappointment. - dan
