I have recently decided to build a mutt of sorts. I have a variety of Tokarev parts, and am going to take the best looking ones and make one functioning gun. I have a full Norinco 9mm 213C Tok, a complete Russian frame, and a few other misc parts.

I was originally planning on redoing the norc 213, by re blueing the metal, and cleaning it up with some Russian grips and trigger. But, when I put the Norc 213 slide on the Russian frame, it actually looked pretty cool, kind of two tone with the two different blue's. A picture can be found here. http://i.imgur.com/CvtnrIuh.jpg

Now my question is, if I take the norc 213 slide, hammer group, barrel, recoil spring and mags, and put it on a Russian frame, will there be any safety issues?

When I first put it on, it was a bit tight, but some light sanding of a few edges made things much smoother. There is a slight gap between the slide and frame that I do not notice on my refurb Russian Tok.

It seems to function fine, the slide is hard to pull back when the hammer is up, but I think that is the case for all Norc Tokarevs. It feeds a round, and extracts it fine when working with a dummy round. Trigger has a bit of creep, but breaks clean at the end of the creep.

Looked this up online, but didn't find much. Here are a few more pics. http://imgur.com/a/d1tcN Can provide more tonight if anyone wants anything in particular.

What issues could come up if the barrel is not mated with the original frame?

Right now the norc slide and barrel are on the Russian frame. I could put the norc frame back on, but I really don't like the safety on it, plus the safety does not work so I think it's pointless to have it on there.

If the barrel is the one that matches the frame I can't see why it would not be safe.

As far as difficulty racking the slide with the hammer down, my NP17 is the same and it runs fine.Others have said the same.

Thanks for the heads up, I will make sure to keep them separate. Glad to know they are interchangeable, I can always put the Norc frame back into service, but now I really like the looks of the two different blues, and well the Russian frame is much slicker looking.

I have both guns and the parts are interchangeable, just do not mix up the 9mm and the 7.62 springs up as they are not the same spring
