Is it possible to build an XCR like the ARs, like buying complete upper and lower, odds and ends and then with the stocks that i preferred? Or would it be better to buy the complete rifle and then swapping out the parts(mainly stock) that I dont want? How much money would one save?

There are no after market XCR lower or uppers. You can change the pistol grip and use AR stocks (if you purchase an AR stock adapter). In short, they are not nearly as customizable as an AR. However, they have lots of rail space so you can add lots of tacticool crap on them (like i'll be doing).

Buy the complete rifle then to feed your build needs start putting together different uppers...

I'm picking up my NEA gen 2 stock adapter next week and adding an OD green Magpul CTR or UBR stock once I get the deal I am looking for it.

Mine are in 223 & 6.8SPC...

This is mine with some aftermarket parts. I'm thinking of a Vortex PST to replace the red dot. Not a big issue right now though.
