Hey all,
So I've recently purchased a NEA lower receiver. While waiting on the transfer and shipping, I've been shopping around for parts. I picked up a "spikes tactical" lower parts kit, comes with ergo grip, single stage trigger, and all the other little goodies. I've purchased an armour's' kit as well off of Canadian tactical Cowboys.
Moving forward I beleive all I'm missing for my lower is a stock, as well as the buffer and components.
I've found a VLTOR re1 buffer tube kit which means I would be still looking for a stock, or there's a VLToR A5 stock system which costs a bit more how ever comes with everything I need. Could someone maybe school me on buffer tubes?
Also I know this is a long shot, I've been doing a lot of reading on our border laws. I remember my instructor saying something about going to gu shows in the states and coming back with parts and acc, just no actual firearms and ammunition. If I. In the states for a while for work can I bring back say a shiny new BCG? Or say some thing simple like a stock, would that involve a export lisence etc?

Thanks for the help, excited to build my first AR,

Cheers
Travis

Unfortunately, you can't bring back so much as a spring for a firearm. All firearm parts are regulated under ITAR. I believe the exception is shotgun parts. You need a registered ITAR vendor/retailer to ship the parts to you ie. Brownells etc.

you can find everything you need on brownells - some parts can't cross but majority can and you will see this as you go into part details. long as the overall shipment is less than 500; you are good to go and they will have you sign off on end user statement.

your other option is to look for parts on the sponsor sites; but seems that almost everyone is out of stock on items i was looking for (just finished assembling a rifle).

I find that seems to be a problem as well, I didn't really start piecing everything together until I purchased my lower receiver.
I might take advantage of the In stock items I CAN find...
Thanks for the input so far!

I have Vltor Re-1 on my Noveske, also have a LMT currently on a NEA Lower. The LMTs' coating and six positions over the Vltors' five position & logo on the bottom of their buffer tube are the only minor differences. External dimensions are the same as both are Mil-Spec tubes.
