Built SLR from CSC

You might save a bit of cash building your own, especially if you cheap out on some/certain/most components, but the reality is building an apples to apples comparison generally isn't going to save very much. With that specific build, chasing parts over time through suppliers and Brownell's and assuming you are taking advantage of locally sourced parts and free/cheap shipping, you could save around $200 doing it yourself.
Build if you want to:
- have full control over what components you use in the rifle
- spread the build and/or cost over time
- build a very high end or specialized rifle overall
- want to learn to do it or just the satisfaction of having done it yourself
If you've never built before or you lack the specialized tools to do it, then building can be less attractive.
Having said that, if you like ARs and you've never built one, you really ought to.

I bought a stag 10 a while back and fell in love with NR AR/DI pattern rifles. I’m currently piecing together a 6.5cm upper for my stag, and I’ve swapped trigger groups on the stag so I get what’s involved building a SLR.
Would you rate the CSC SLR an upper tier build? Could I expect upper tier reliability and accuracy from the CSC gun?

It's not a top tier build but it is a decent mid level build. The components used are good quality and should perform well. It comes with a good trigger so you won't need to upgrade. The Odin Works barrels are decently accurate. The BCM handguard is good quality.
The only thing that I would have liked to see is a nice brake instead of the flash hider and a better charging handle like a Geissele or Raptor instead of the basic mil-spec one. But them two things are easily changed if you want to.
Overall I'd say this build will be good to go just the way it comes. You won't save much money sourcing the pats yourself by the time you pay shipping on parts from several different places. If you have to buy tools to assemble the parts you won't save anything over the cost of this rifle. Only benefit in having to buy tools to build one is that you will then have them for your next build or two or three or....
If you think you'll be happy with the configuration of the rifle I'd say buy it. At least you'll have a rifle that you can use right away instead of sitting around waiting trying to source parts.
