Update..... Just got a email that she is done and ready to ship.

Before we start they will be going on my da50 I have getting made at atrs and it will have a 8.5" barrel so ya..... cuz I wanted it

As the title suggests I need some good quality iron sights but Iv never used detachable sights before so any exprience would be helpful.

I would like the rear sight to be completely adjustable.

With all due respect, I have to ask.
Was this the culmination of too many beers and a bunch of dumb Alberta/Saskatchewan rednecks who like shiny things and stuff that makes a loud bang?

And if irons are what you're after, might I suggest a set of FIXED irons.

I do in fact like shiny things that go BANG and it was the thunder pistol that called to me and I HAD to have something like it but surprisingly nobody wanted to make a barrel for me.
The years went by then CanadaAmmo made the da50 and asked about short DAs asked them first but it was a no go so I asked atrs and a man by the name of Rick said sure why not.

As I said I have no experience with these kind of sights but I was looking at a set of troy fixed sights if a pair a folding sights would last I would love to put my hst on it and do some ''long range'' shooting just to try.

I know Fox Alpha strongly suggested fixed, but honestly I think folding Troys will stand up to the task with out even blinking, but I have also never shot a 8.5" .50bmg bolt gun. Haha
 
While i do not wish to be anywhere near you when you shoot this thing... I do want to see a video of it :d

And i would think the troy ones would be a good bet... However I'd like to see how the magpul ones do just out of curiosity.
 
I always wanted a 16" barreled 50BMG for the same reason (just cuz), but 8.5"! my hats off to you sir, that's gnarly. Definitely interested in the results. A 17" barrel (according to Anzio) should still do 2200fps I wonder what 8.5" will push?
