Surplus has all but dried up. I believe Marstar got it's last lot from Haiti or the Domenican. Your options are factory or reload.
 
"...surplus drying out, just like 8mm..." Neither cartridge has been used by a major country's military for eons. Reloading makes this endless search go away. Carbide dies, regular small rifle primers and IMR4227(13.5 to 15.0compressed) with 110 grain bullets.

indeed, still sad to no longer be able to find the stuff, i guess reloading is the only way.

The sad thing is, alot of if has been just buried. On one of the Garand forums I haunt once in a while, a fellow posted a story of MPs on a military base that were reading off serial numbers for the M1 Garands in their inventory, just before they were tossed in a huge pitt. One of the guys helping out mentions that it's such a shame, and the other guy says, you should have been here last week. They had buried hundreds of M1 Carbines, and tonnes of carbine ammo in the same area....... Oh the pain of it all...

Yea, the other guys were asking the same questions, and wanting the grid referece as well. All I know it was a big base in the US, I think in the med west....

Anyone have access to satillite photos of US military bases training areas??... hee hee
