Bulk Range Brass

I have a buddy who has offered me about 5K of used brass. These are assorted calibres from 22-250 to 308 and all sizes in between. Once fired twice fired and a mix of ????. What would be a fair price to pay per piece for the whole lot.

The question you need to ask is how much of the assortment will you be able to use. Offer him ten cents a case for the cartridges you load for and if he says all or nothing offer him a hundred bucks for all of it. There might be a lot of cases you'll never use and there might be a lot of culls, so don't spend too much.

Scarpe price is about a $1 a pound.

Scrap brass is actually at $.60/lb right now. (at least that is what they are paying here) If you want to buy that same brass from the scrap dealer.... he wants $1.50/lb......

I'd offer $1 per lb...... and if that isn't enough tell him you want to sort it to only get the stuff you want...... It's only a bargain if you can use it.......

I wouldn't take anyone that I actually like Budweiser - splurge on Guinness or Kilkenny and make him feel guilty for asking for any $$$ in the first place... smiley

"...of Budweiser..." Hemidart says the guy is a buddy. Beer is NOT made with rice, then filtered through a horse.
Don't think I'd pay by the piece. $1 per pound sounds fairly reasonable. Don't like range pick up brass myself.
Still Winter in Middle Earth? 5,000 cases is a lot to sort through. Especially when you have no idea if it is once fired or how many times it has been fired, what brands may be in there or anything else about it. Any berdan primed milsurp is worthless(scrap value only). So is any with cracks, corrosion, etc.
