Wanting to pick up a .22lr heavy barrel for target shooting.
Prefer semi but can't find a 10/22 target anywhere? Anyone else have other rifle suggestions?
Wrong picture Obviously, still trying to figure out this photo bucket thing haha. That's the stock 10/22 I started with.. I'll post a picture of the rebuild now shortly when I get this figured out haha
I recently purchased a 10/22 50th. While I was shopping, Cabelas.ca had the Ruger 10/22 Target Semi-Auto (blued) available in stock online for $599.99.
I'm more into getting the full gun Margucci. Savage seems to have a nice bolt action setup but I'm not certain I want that.
I've tried the magnum research 22wmr and it is bang on accurate but a little bit out of my price range.
However $600 for a stock 10/22 IMO is silly. Even if it has a bull barrel. There are much better aftermarket barrels out there for the same price. + then you have an extra barrel or sell it and recoup some cost.
I have a 597 HB and a 10-22 with a Vq barrel. They both shoot very well but both needed trigger work. Again I put Vq in the Rem. and just stoned the 10-22. Cabelas on line (US) has a Rem Yellowjackets for about 300 U.S. very good deal if you can get it here. As others have said there are some very good aftermarket barrels for the Ruger.
After reading the good and bad reviews of the Remington I may steer clear. Was thinking of spending more than I wanted to and maybe getting a dlask?
Definitely want semi auto. It's too bad volquarsten is so damn expensive they sure make some beautiful setups.
I would probably go and pick up a barrel etc if I had the regular 10/22 but I have the takedown model.
