The yellow pages is your friend. Scrap metals recyclers sometimes have lead.
I like indoor ranges myself. One let me clean out the bullet backstop 3 times and I ended up with 2400 lbs of lead (800 - 3lb ingots) after I melted it all down. Bullet lead to boot!! good luck.

tigrr, how did you melt the fully jacketed bullets? I've attempted to collect range lead on occasion, and it was so much work cutting each little bullet I promptly gave it up and threw the rest out. I would imagine that breaking or cutting the jacket on 2400 lbs of bullets would take about 10 years.
The indoor range is one with the 1/2" plates at a 45 degree angle towards the floor, spaced about 20 inches apart, 12 feet wide and going up 10 feet high. The jacketed bullets lose the jacket after impacting with this steel. They sit on the 4 inch sand base, just waiting to be scouped up. Most of the lead is sitting in big clumps in the last v on the bottom. See pic
