Hey I'm looking for advise on a factory loaded bullet for my 25-06 that won't leave a remarkable hole exiting a coyote. Shots are in the 150 - 250 yard distance. I've tried cxp1 90 grains great varmit round terrible for fur. Fusion 120 grain still seem to open up quite a hole. I have 115 grain win silvertips but I'm not sure they will preform any better. I want a quick clean kill but not the mess. Any help will be great thanks

I shoot 55 grain moly coated Nosler Ballistic Tips in my .243. They are just deadly, have never lost one, or had spinners and have yet to have an exit wound.

That's what I thought would happen with cxp1s. The coyote dropped but there was a 4" exit hole on the other side. He was manggy anyway but maybe ill have to down size my rifle

I would never use a .25-06 for fur hunting. I think it is just too much if the fur is important, and that you will always encounter off side disasters no matter which bullet you use.

Last time I check coyote hides were worth next to nothing. Just shoot 'em don't worry about the hides.
Seriously though it will be hard to get a 25-06 factory load that will be specifically designed to varmit hunt. Especially one that won't exit a coyote. Handloading you may be able to come up with something, I have some 75gr Hornady v-max bullets I loaded up one time in my 25-06. Never spend enough time with them to come up with an accurate load though.

I like the 25 for the longer range shots. I know the fur is worthless but I want the hides just for personal decorations in my office and to line my gun cabinet. I was out tonite with my 22-410 just plinking and drilled a fox with a 410 slug dropped him perfect nice clean entry n exit holes

I personally thing that anything over 6mm is too much gun for coyotes. I tried a .243 Win for 1 season and found it way too devastating. I even tried the 55 grain Nosler but it was making some pretty big holes in the yotes that I was shooting. I still have the occasional blowout with a .223 Rem. The only thing I can suggest you try is a FMJ bullet and only if it is legal...

I was thinking about hard ball it is legal and I'm sure it will have the knockdown for a yoye but this thread got me thinkin I need another rifle I don't have a 22-250 yet. For close range I. Still use my 22 mag it does a perfect job at less then 50yards

You'll never find a bullet for a 25-06 that will not exit so use the same kind of bullet you would for hunting deer/bear these bullets will not blow up the off side they just make small holes in and out...
