What is wrong with this bullet?
A 150 grain Nosler Partition, .270, shot from Sako in 270 Win cal, and recovered in hide on far side of elk, at 150 yards.

It's a really ugly brown colour:dancingbanana:

Seriously, I love the btips on deer at 308 velocities. At 25-06 velocities I would use a bullet a bit tougher.

Even thought the round nose bullet is very accurate, you aren't using the cartridge for what it was really designed to be, flat shooting. I had super results with the 110 gr accubond in a 25-284.

Roundnose bullets will only bounce off todays tougher deer, anything with a plastic tip and costing $2 ea. will drop 'em even if you hit him in foot,(hydrostatic shock)!

I agree that it is counter-intuitve to drive a round-nose bullet out of a fast-shooting rifle. But like Geoff says, I had the best groups in my .257 Wby with that same 117 gr RN bullet.

And just as a guess, meat damage will be less with the RN than the BT........
