Bullet coating (hBN)

Anyone using boron nitride for coating bullets. I know some US shooters are. We use it for coating gears and sprockets we make, but would like to try it on some bullets. If so, what method for application?? Thanks, Mark

I use it Mark. First I rinse my bullets with alcohol. Then I warm them to 180 and put them in plastic bottle with BB's and a teaspoon of hbn. Then the bottle goes in my tumbler for an hour.

Where do you guys buy your HBN in Canada or the USA? I have been meaning to try it but have not located a supply as yet!

Got some from 'LowerFriction' in On. $80/lb. Should do 40-50 thousand bullets. Mark

Why the washing and heating Mark?I was told just to put them straight in.

We have used the 'coarser' product on gears etc, wash in laquer thinner, then dilute it and spray on. Most users recommend the .50 product for bullets. Don't know why wash, heat, maybe better adhesion?? Haven't tried hBN on bullets yet myself. Mark

That right 358. I find I get better adhesion by washing and heating. I even heat the BB's.
