Just to start, my answer to all these questions just might be yes?

Elk/deer hunt at the same time, same trip.

180 grain Hornady interlock roundnose
180 grain Hornady interlock btsp
165 grain Hornady interlock btsp

165 grain Speer btsp
180 grain Speer btsp

180 grain nosler accubond.

All these reloads are shooting MOA in my 30-06 at 100 yds.

Which one to use?

Are Speer 165 btsp and Hornady too soft for elk?

Is 180 btsp Speer and Hornady the best choice?

Is 180 accubond too much for deer/ won't expand on deer.

Would like to try to find 165 accubond, but ya right... Like unicorns. Heard of them, can't find one.

And no I don't have any ttsx, or similar designed bullets... Don't have any partitions either. But wouldn't be opposed if I could find some.

All of the above will work if you do your part. I have used 140 grain Hornady boat tails for years, and the elk haven't complained. The 180 roundnose will definitely put a hurt on them.

Of the bullets you've listed, I would use the accubond. Any of them would work for deer, but the bonded bullet would give me a little more peace of mind for elk.

I just got back from an elk hunt and was using 165 grain Accubonds. They work great.
I had a 1 shot kill at 90 yards. Dropped him right where he stood
I would bet they will work well on deer as well which I am hoping to find out starting with Mondays rifle hunt

The speer or hornady interlocks should be fine as well. I have used both those type of bullets in .270 win to take moose, deer & antelopes

Shot placement is the key point though

Any of the 180 grn bullets you mentioned will do their job if you do yours...
Now go and cut those tags !!!

Hahaa, getting right bullet for combo hunt is half the battle. Finding a critter to shoot us the other half.
If you read any hunting magazine out there you feel like it should be no problem getting an animal. No substitute for experience.

Any of those will work.

We sweat the details on the internet so much, but in real life, it's basically meaningless.

While we're discussing which specific bullet is best in your 30-06, other people are out there right now killing elk with the cheapest 30-30 ammo they could find at their local hardware store...
