I would think someone even new to reloading would have a reloading manual or two, of which all 3 or at least two of the above mentioned cartridges are listed.
My recomendation to you Fog is try a bit of reading when you have time, and catch up on the other calibers in those manuals. That's how I became saavy to the world of not so standard calibers.

If you can avoid it, don't make 8mm Mauser brass from 30-06 empties.
8mm being just a tad shorter, it will allow chambering of lesser weight (shorter) spitzers in a 30-06 action.
Then you'll risk swaging .323" bullets to .308" in a very big hurry...:eek:

There are lots of rounds that are safe to fire in chmbers not designed for them too.
For example, I've fired 38-40 in a 44-40 chamber, 30-30 in a 32 special chamber. 303 British in a 303 Epps Chamber.
These were properly headstamped rounds, until I fireformed them in the larger chamber so that they could be reloaded for that firearm.
I have simply resized 270 to 30-06, and same with 243 to 308.
If you go 30-06 to 270 you have a lot of trimming to do. The other way round usually gets you short brass.

I simply tried to explain things to someone who I though had a lot more experience and or knowledge than was indicative than their post count.
I did provide you with a means of increasing your knowledge in this area, but if digging to find things out for your self is too difficult, or the simple fact that someone was not going to spoon feed you the answers to every thing up sets you then who's the arse hole.
 
Really, I think you're in more danger of accidentally double-charging, or using an incorrect powder than you are of managing to get an incorrect cartridge to chanber & fire. And if you DO, somehow, manage to get a 358 into a 308 chamber, well, that's just Darwinian

What does post count have to do with knowledge! The guy is asking a simple honest question. If you can only help a fellow board member in search of some information by insulting him. Then shut up and keep it to your self!!! Maybe a few others here could learn a thing or two from this thread. Instead we have a self proclaimed "####" drawing everyones attention away from the initial question. If nothing else please try to gather what little manners god gave a "####" and try refrain (I KNOW IT WILL BE HARD FOR YOU) from destroying another board members post! Take care and thanks Lefty!

Absolutely. Keep accurate records, and label your stored ammo carefully. It also helps if you only resize larger - then a round can't accidently fit in the original caliber chamber. I've gotton so I really concentrate when I'm reloading, no TV, etc. Perhaps its just the advancing years! :p
 
a beer sounds good to me:D ...we can get togeather and discuss something what every one agrees on...
stuff like religion/politics,or maybe the best set up,s for a bear bait:p lol
