I have a Leupold RXII rangefinder on the way and was wondering how to find the bullet path @ 500 yards (not bullet drop) for a .223 52gr Hornady match HPBT (25.5gr Benchmark) traveling at about 3200-3250fps with a sight in of 200 yards. The reason I'm asking is because the rangefinder has TBR and will give you the hold over for targets once you know this information.
I don't expect to nail gophers @ 500 yards, but some help with coyotes at longer ranges would be nice.
Dial in your RX to one of seven TBR™ ballistics settings for the rifle and three for the bow for incredible accuracy. TBR is effective to 800 yards for most rifle cartridges. The RX has three True Ballistic Range readouts for rifle hunters.
MOA: The minutes of angle of elevation to adjust your riflescope for precise zero.
HOLD: The number of inches or centimeters to hold over or under aim point on target.
BAS: The equivalent horizontal range for which you should hold for use with your bullet’s or arrow’s ballistics.
