bullet puller die?

i just learned that there is such a thing as bullet puller die.

i have researched it a bit on the Net, and it seems that only RCBS makes it. does any company make it beside RCBS?

what is the price tag i am looking at? it would be nice if i can get it at the local gunshops in the lower mainland of BC. however, i would consider used one if anyone has one to offer.

thx.

I live up in the 100 Mile House area and get most of my stuff from Rusty Wood in Mission. Prices are fair and it usually arrives within a week.

Last post on this thread was from 2008. Necro thread!

Still a good topic though.

I have the Hornady. Used it more when I was a rookie to loading.

Need a single stage. I made it work on my Lee progressive however.

Little bit fussy to get dialed in to pull the bullet without deforming or damaging.

When I was a kid all we had was the inertia whack the basement floor puller...What a silly messy deal that was.

I don't need to pull bullets often but when I do I have been using the RCBS collet system since I was that kid that found out about something much better in design.

I have the RCBS collet puller.....I recently pulled apart a bunch of 338 WM ammo in a short period of time that was not stored properly (cold weld). Using a Redding Ultra Mag single stage, there was not one round that gave me a hard time.

Have inertia and rcbs. Rcbs works very nicely. Inertia probably won't work well for crimped or sealed mil cartridges... Any collet puller could mark bullets if there is a burr or improperly used but I've pulled a ton of bullets with marks from the case only. Since i got the collet puller I've never used the inertia. Rcbs and hornady ones look similar but I've never used a hornady

I use the Hornady system. If I use it properly it doesn’t mark the bullets.

Also have an inertia type. Had a primer go off on one once when attempting to remove a bullet. Fortunately there was no powder in the case, which was why I was pulling the bullet. So I use them only as a last resort, nearly never.

I ended up buying a collet type bullet puller made by RCBS. For years, I used the hammer type but this thing is absolutely fantastic. Once it's set up, it's a total breeze to operate. Since all my rifle calibers are basically .30 I only need the one collet for all 3 rifle calibers I load.
