I have just bought myself a Frankford Arsenal Quick-N-EZ impact bullet puller.

My plan was to pull some surplus 7.62x39 and Tul 45ACP to make my own dummy rounds for dry firing.

However after reading the warnings it says "Do not attempt to disassemble factory ammunition where a bullet sealant has been used"

So I have two questions do the surplus chinese 7.62x39 and 45 ACP Tul Ammo have a bullet sealant and what difference would this make.

I assume you have seating die if your going to make dummy rounds.

Put round in she'll holder and use seating die to push bullet in a little. This will break any seal.

I dont have a seating die or any other reloading equipment.
I was just planning to save some money on making my own snap caps.

then why not just shoot them??

realistically if you used it on a bullet that was sealed, it 1) wont come appart, 2) take a hell of alot more pounding then normally required..

the warning is there so people dont wail on it trying to get a factory seal round apart and then break it and demand a replacement

Oh it will come apart... Just find a solid piece of wood that you can beat on such as a 2x6 or block of firewood and start swinging in a controlled yet forceful manner... Worst case is you break the tool and are out a bit of cash you probably should of spent on snap caps.

you could also go a different route. Drill a small hole across the case(carefully, don't generate sparks) somewhere in the middle, 3/32" drill bit should do, go all the way through the round so you end up with 2 holes, empty the powder thoroughly and then on gun range or some other safe place to discharge, chamber it, pull trigger to burn the primer. The 7.62 round is loose enough in the chamber to let out that little bit of pressure created by that primer without loosening the bullet itself. Try one, if it works, make as many as you want. I'm probably going to do the same as I'm tired paying $18,- for a pair of dummies. The only thing is, you'll have to see how many cyclings they last before the bullet goes loose.

I just pulled 15 norc non-corr bullets with a RCBS kinetic, couldn't tell if the bullets were sealed. I use a rug on a concrete floor and some took 5 wacks some 3 but all came out. Done the same with surplus 8mm.

The impact bullet pullers are designed to be used on directly on hard surfaces. I've whacked mine on the concrete floor for years with no ill effects. Any cushioning you use like carpet or even wood will lessen the inertia effect and require more hits to get the bullet out.
