Bullet Pullers

I have an RCBS kinetic bullet puller. I used it to pull both .308 and .303 (.311) hornady interlock softpoint bullets out of my 7.72x54r brass that I had undercharged with varget.

I bought it new from ellwood epps, and it came with about an inch and a half of foam in the tip.

I was under the impression that the hammer type deforms the bullets and you cannot use them after, but I mic'd them with my digital mastercraft micrometer and couldn't see a difference on any dimension I measured.

I also didn't beat the hell out of them. Sometimes it took a few whacks before the bullets came loose.

With some trepidation I shot them, and nothing exploded, and I didn't notice any difference whatsoever in accuracy out of mosin, but it's not exactly a benchrest masterpeice.

Also; the bullets I was pulling weren't spire pointed/spitzer, they are hunting bullets, and have a fairly round tip.

If I had to guess, I'd say that over the years the foam in my bullet puller will lose it's elasticity, and start deforming the bullets more and more.
Bobby.
