Bullet pulling

If you have a reloading press and a pair of pliers

load round in shell holder/ up with handle/ grab bullet with pliers / down with handle

its pulled ( but you can not reuse bullet)

Weird. I've used mine to pull down approximately 180 7.62x54r to reload into 303brit, and I've never had the powder spill everywhere. I use a hand press so I can't really use the other methods efficiently.

I wouldn't have the patience to pull a 180 with that method.

I only do 20 at a time usually, never more than 40 in one go. My local lgs sells 20 packs of surplus x54r for $9.99 so I buy a box or two and go to town. 180 at once would be painful for sure, but with my hand press in kinda stuck without a better option. When I have space for a reloading setup I'll be trying some of these other ones.

OP, you could probably get a pair of wire strippers and Dremel out the holes to fit. Make a poor man's grip n pull.

some light charges and some bullets seated a bit on the side due to a defect in the seating die. Made some test with another die set to confirm and compare measurements... Now waiting for the replacement die set to resume reloading...

I use a Mr. Bullet Feeder powder funnel which helps with concentricity. It's stepped, similar to a Lyman M die. The only drawback is that it sticks a little more than my Dillon powder funnel but I just power through it.

Light charges are not related to gear... I just made every load indicated in my book for the 3powders I had in small batches. The range is far from home and open only 2 days a week when there is an official available, Plus I work an unregular schedule so I can only get to the range for a maximum 4days a month when it is open...

I can now establish that bullets flying around 1000fps are working best with my M&P9... So from now on, I known that I will play only around 1000fps... Low charge is not a major quantity and can be done with the hammer fast enough...

However the misaligned bullets are counting for a certain number around 100bullets. With the hammer it may takes up to 40 hit on the concrete to get a single bullet out... :/

Dies are in the mail, will manage that next weekend to retrieve at least the powder...

Thats not a bad idea, I have a couple of them wire strippers. It would be simple to open the holes up and try them out.

Thanks. I just thought of it yesterday. You can probably get a pair for $3 at dollarama, and I know a large percentage of us have access to a Dremel... once I thought of it I was like omg that's so simple why didn't someone else think of it first!?
