Bullet seating adjustment

Came up with an idea the other day.
Why not mount a dial indicator that sits on the adjusting screw for measuring how much to turn the screw in, to set proper seating depth after you do a preliminary seating of the bullet. Once you take a measurement for overall length you use the dial indicator to turn the screw in the amount you need to seat the bullet to the proper depth.

I also do the math and for the 30 min. it took me to whip the bracket up, and as I am a gadget type of guy, I thought it would be a great idea.
I will see when I load some shells tomorrow.

I have tiny sharpie marks on my dies... ;) It gets me there and then I verify with my calipers and bullet comaparator.
 
Thanks Marshman, I like it too and it works very well. Seat the bullet on the long side, measure the OAL, do the math, make the adjustment and bob,s your uncle, reseat that first bullet and the rest are all the same. Should have come up with that years ago.

Now if I could only get my pictures to show up on my posts.
I'm to old for all this new computer stuff.

YOUR IDEA, will work; there is a set up for wilson dies that works something like that . If I recall the wilson set up measures depth of seating into the neck of the brass and has to do with neck tension.

Interesting.....
As long as there isn't so much play in the adjusting screw that it makes consistent adjustments difficult, this could go help.
