I have an older Mk V in 300 Weatherby Mag that I dust off every couple of years in an attempt to find a decent load for.

What bullet types ( and weights) have you folks had success with in a hunting load for that combo.

Thanks

I have a WBY throated 300 Wby in a Rem 700, I've had good accuracy and velocity with 200 gn Nos AB and Parts using CCI 250s or Fed 215 and RL 25. Both bullets are superb performers on game as well. I have also used 168 gn TTSX and 150 gn TTSX in it with good hunting accuracy (moa) Don't recall the powders I used with these as I have gone exclusively to 200 grnrs for the past 4 years.

I have never had much luck with the lighter bullets in my 300 Bee. I stick to 200's mostly, though I have had decent groups with some 180's. oddly enough cheap Hornadys have given me some of the best groups, I just don't like to use them because I don't think they will stay together at the speeds the Weatherby pushes them. - dan

I have taken moose for the last 15yrs with the 300WHBY and handloads. My favorite load is the Nosler Partition 200gr and H4831. Once you've gone this route you'll never go back to 180gr.

Usually, the 300 Weatherby, because of it's case capacity, is ideally suited to the 200 grain bullets.
The 200 Partition would be my first choice, but the 200 Accubond should also work well.
Others have already posted good powder choices.
