Hello everyone.

I will be shooting ipsc next year and want to start developing a 9mm minor load for my shadow 1 in production.

I wanted to try some x-metal coated hi-tek's in 124 grain but their shipping is outrageous.

I can't seem to find a decent bullet supplier in the Edmonton area. A couple of the local shops have some but the selection of 9mm is quite lacking.

Where are you buying your 9mm bullets from? What are some good options for consistent weight diameter and length? Is the hi-tek coated bullet worth the shipping charge from Quebec?

Thank you for any information.

I'm curious how you make out.

FWIW, I've been ordering CamPro from Budget Shooter Supply, I did not know about the free shipping from Tenda. I'm curious to hear how you make out with the powder coated bullets, I'd like to try them myself.

Lately, I've been using 124gr CamPro on 4.5gr of HP-38. Seems to work fine for me.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Yep Tenda is definitely an option.

Has anyone tried the hi-tek? Where is JTT located (sorry no Facebook).

JTT is in Sundre. I tried 1000 bullets over the last few months, and just ordered 5000 more. They will be my go-to for training and competition.

I was happily using Campro, only switched because of the slight savings, and I would rather support another IPSC AB shooter.

I run 147g in my Shadow 2 for .15c each, tax included. Are you a member of the IPSC AB forum yet? He is easy to get a hold of there, or through email. Shipping makes things a pain, but with matches held all over the province its not that hard to get someone to pickup/dropoff.

If you want to try the 147g, send me a message, I could spare some.

A friend and I ordered a bunch of JTT's coated 124 grains. Good price and he makes frequent trips between Calgary and Edmonton so no shipping.

Thanks guys, and JTT!

Nice. I’m sure he steered you in the right direction for load data, I find that it’s basically on par with X-Metal’s published stuff. It’s all Hi-Tek supercoat, so the correlation makes sense, and you can use that as a reference.

I’m getting the same velocity as my Campro 147 with .2 grains less of Titegroup

I get my pistol bullets from one of three sources.
My local choice is Proline Shooters here in Calgary. If they don't have the caliber I'm looking for, or I feel like using a brand other than Campro, I'll go online with Budget Shooter Supply or Western Metal.
All have treated me well and prices are decent for both product and shipping.
