Bullets keyhole'ing...14.5 barrel

Update... I got talking with Dean on Thursday, told him what was happening and what I thought the problem was. There was a few minutes of disbelief on his part, which I can't blame him for. Apparently the barrels are out sourced from another mfg so there won't be too many happy folks if the entire shipment is screwed.
Bottom line was send them back for replacement or refund.
Still want the barrels, a hand full of money doesn't make the same noise! :D

Looks like I'm in the same boat as you Oden. Finally got the AR out to the range today, and it was keyholing right up to 25 yards. I'm glad they are putting up no fuss about replacement/refund. I guess I have it a little better than folks like Oden, as Dlask is within driving distance. Still a major pain in the ass though...

Damn. My first barrel from them was sent in the white and it was key-holeing with 69's though it seemed fine with 55's at 25 yds.

The replacement they sent seemed fine with the 20 55 grainers I had on hand but didn't try any thing heavier as I was starting my move east. Now that I am here I will have to get out and see how it's doing.

I phoned them last week and they (the lady) acknowledged that there was a problem with the barrels and to send them back as they would have a replacement batch in at the end of Sept.

I sent it in along with a letter (easier than trying to talk to the phone lady) asking about re-payment of the postage that I have had to pay with out getting a functioning barrel. Cda Post site still says my package is in transit so no answer yet.

keyhole? my friend is maybe the same boat. recieved his rifle a week back, tried it and was keyholeing. got to inform him if it is the same company in the westcoast.

Guess I won;t be buying that M4-gery upper from Dlask after all that I was looking at - Wolverine, here I come!

Sorry, but I will never again buy from a company that allowed this big a ####up to happen.

The update...both barrels (14.5 & 20 HB) arrived on Nov 2nd. Chromed lined, 1:9 twist, all is good. Midnight session at friend's machine shop to mount the A2 sight tower.
Out to the range today, respectable grouping @ 100 yd, NO KEYHOLE'ING...life is good. BTW installed a Rock River Arms two stage trigger... sweet!

recce had the same problem from that same company, the barrels were not finished. He sent it back to them and they replaced the barrel. Contact recce for more information. I have taken lots of pictures of his problem barrel and targets.

The twist rate was wrong to begin with so anything over 55 was not stabilized, at 25 yds!
and some of the 55's looked to have had some wobble to them as well.

I sent it back and recieved one from the same batch that Oden describes above, so it seems as if the problem has been rectified. You also have to keep in mind these are not made by Dlask, the problem was with their supplier.

I am going to shoot mine Saturday and will post results.
