Why isn't this shotgun/rifle a reproduction being offered from Uberti or Pedersoli? Probably not cheap if it was, but very tempting...

The Burgess is a cool gun for sure but a Company like Pedersoli has to figure out if the the interest in such a gun is worth the layout of tooling up to make it.Supposedly Pedersoli is currently going to release a copy of the Baker rifle which if done right should be a big hit in the muzzleloading community.People in the muzzleloading community have been crying for a Baker replica for years and it s just now being introduced so I would figure the chance that Pedersoli would build the Burgess at this time is slim and even if they did it probably would be five or more years before you would get one in your hands

Probably right. But I'd buy one if it ever came out. A 20 gauge that size would be a fun rabbit / woodland bird gun... I'm sure the CASS crowd would get into that gun as well.

Should have pulled that one out instead of the Colt Burgess for my pic with the Bullard :p

Marstar's Wolverine and Tamgha are probably the closest you can get to this...

Sounds like we got the same taste in guns. As interesting as those two offerings are from Marstar are, I figure that Burgess got more wood and class. LOL!

the Burgess is a strange gun to shoot because of pumping with your right hand. What caught my attention is that I am very conscious of the breach piece coming back towards my face. The reason is that when pumping with my right hand, I am sort of pulling the gun towards my face compared to pumping most pumps with my left hand which sort of pulls the gun towards my right shoulder. The ability of a detached barrel & magazine to be carried with shells in it is also an interesting feature

cheers mooncoon

I see your point. You'd have to train yourself to use your forearm as a brace & somehow not loose your point of aim & cheek weld while cycling. That could get get interesting ... Length of pull would be very important on that number.
