Burlington, ON Hungry M14 Clinic Sat 28 Feb 2009 Register HERE!

Just a little plug for Hungry here, he and I met over christmas to borrow castle nut plier to fix my wobbly flash hider. Next thing I know he's got me 'accuratized'.

I took it to the range at EESA on Sunday. Using CRAPPY South African Surplus ammo, I hit the 300 yd gong 19 times out of 20 shots.

Okay, I got a link for some 5 thou or 10 brass shim stock from Lee Valley Tools (online ordering looks good, too).

Now I gotta get specific. How about a similar kind of source for stainless steel shim stock in 8 thou ? If not, I'll buy the 10 thou to bring to the clinic(s).

Last Edmonton Clinic in Nov 2008, Sosa busted open this excellent feeling/cutting stainless steel shim stock in 8 thou. I know that this ain't rocket science, so I have to source some of that material here in Bantario....

Cheers,
Barney

i found a whole whack of the shim stock!! looking forward to having you all make shims 4 yourselves. this 1 hand typing is driving me krazy.

cheers,
barney

Hi there Hungry, one of the guys at Marstar told me about you when i called them asking about the presure differences between 7.62x51 milsurp ammo and comercial .308 rounds, he said "don't worry about what the manual says, just talk to Hungry". :) Look i would like to know if you are going to have a workshop here in Montreal soon, or maybe somewhere close, within an hour or two drive. I would really like to learn everything i can about these great rifles, and learning from the best would be a little easier than spending countless hours of reading and then counter balancing what i just read. Anyway take care, hope to maybe meet ya in MTL.

I'm typing with one complete hand and one finger from the disable hand now, so the shift key is now working.

Nope I can't say I know everything there is to know about the M14, but I have screwed up along the journey to know a shxtload and then be able to explain the fxckups I've made. Now, that said, feel free to shoot commercial ammo, I suggest keeping the bullets below 170 grains to prevent op rod battering/ breakage.

Sign up for the Ottawa clinic for the best $ 35 you will ever spend.

Cheers,
Barney

We are 10 days away and tomorrow, the Dr will remove my arm cast and I'll be sporting my smaller finger splint. Got lots of syringes $ 2.00 each (includes the grease) for sale!! Also bringing lots of shims for all of you to hammer out for yourselves!

Hi Everyone,

I am facing a huge decision here, a buddy of mine wants to go to a hunting course next saturday, so if anyone is intrested I might be willing to give up my spot, I will know for sure by monday. Just my luck both are happening on the same weekend, when is the next clinic in either Burlington, TO, Barrie, or surrounding areas?

I am #2 on the waiting list. Send a PM to Hungry and see what he says. I would be glad to buy it from you. you can PM me if you like.

Thanks, Dan

I cannot promise when I can do Burlington next since competition season is coming up and doing a clinic a month (read: giving up a weekend) is cutting in on my family time. The Calgary folks are still waiting for an answer regarding May or June date, and that's the height of the LFCA Teams and their preparation.

Your call LuckyLuc82! Lemme know what works for you!

I've just packed the boxes of tools. And since I'm driving instead of flying, I packing along my 2 receiver wrenches (heavy bastards).

This is getting more exciting.

Quick update: foxbat has backed out and the space has been offered up to Spcammo's Bro in law, so we'll see if we can move some of the waiting list folks up....

Barney

I'm packing the garage right now. Will be driving down to BRRC on Sat AM...

SPCammo's brother in law has dibs right now and we'll see if they accept that spot... Let's see who is next on the waiting list....

Damnit

Last minute emergency means I won't be able to go, hoping to sell my spot. Give me a PM if you're interested!

Yup we got spots opening up. That is normal after all the clinics I've been running over the years!

Any potential newcomers ? You are most welcome ....
