So, today I tried mounting a scope on my 597 with some Burris rings, it didn't go so well. I have a scope mounted on my centerfire with Burris rings and I think they are the cats a$$, those are the weaver style. Based on my experience with those rings, I picked up a set for my rimfire, dovetail mount. All I can say is… they are junk, complete garbage! While snugging the base of the rings onto the dovetail, yes I said snugging not cranking, the small clamp snapped!! On both!!! I was not even given'er. So needless to say I'm quite perturbed. Has anyone out there ever dealt with Burris's Warranty? If so, how are the to deal with?

You are likely putting standard rings on a narrower rim-fire base.

Not the rings fault at all.

That is what the dealer gave me along with the rifle. I would have to assume that the dealer knew what rings the rifle required, as I am new to rimfires. The package said .22 cal.

So if you know something I or the dealer doesn't, please elaborate. Any help would be great!

I mis-read, was thinking weaver style bases.

I have no love for dove tail rings of any type.

Only thing I can think of is the base not having enough clearance between the receiver to allow the tails to twist.

I did the exact same thing using the Burris rim fire rings on my Annie, a quick email to Burris, and they shipped me one, plus a spare within a couple days. No questions asked, and. Ps I was cranking on mine.

Ive used them on a few guns with no problems whatsoever. I torque mine to 20 inch pounds. I do however like the look of the leupold rings better as they don't have that big screw sticking out the side.

Just an update. A representative from Burris contacted me today and said that a new set of rings will be shipped to me first thing in the morning! Now that is what I call fantastic customer service!! No questions asked. I sent an email attached some pics and presto!, replacement on the way. Excellent company to deal with, I still think the .22 rings are a bit weak though, however as I stated before the weaver style are bang on!
